1. Change the Filter of Your Furnace

2. Clean the Blower Assembly
Unplug the furnace’s power source, including any generator or backup system. Next, remove the front panel and slide the fan unit out of the heating system. Using nontoxic soap, water, and a toothbrush, clean the blower assembly. Pay particular attention to the fan blades and the small spaces between them. Wipe down the motor until it’s clean.
